If you are interested in the topic of thermodynamics and statistical mechanics, a guy called Kittel has written a good book about it called Thermal Physics.
I have moved this to pseudoscience: any thread purporting to support the existence of perpetual motion machines belongs here, unless accompanied by susbtantive evidence.
Very amusing. Quite whimsical really.Originally Posted by nwaogu

Stick to the physics, gentlemen, your understanding of pychology is zero.
lol
Houm...
BUILD IT.
Then may happen two things.
One, the machine starts going on and it still goes on the day you die of old, bilionaire & revered.
The other is that you die of old before you get the damn machine to not stop after some cycles. In case it even starts.![]()
Your current chances are of some 0 to 250,000 for executed projects and 0 to 50,000,000 for theorethical projects.
(Oh... I love your explanation of thermodynamics. Newton also forged that silly thing called Universal Gravitation the day he failed to fly due to his lack of determination)
From nwaogu's website:I don't know about magnetic perpetual motion, but that was damn nearly a perpetual sentence! :P"a metal called the attracting metal sometimes a magnet with different magnetic pole from the chamber magnet feels the magnetic field of a magnet called the chamber magnet in a longer position towards the chamber magnet called the dynamics wall thus moves to the shorter position called the resistance wall, this motion causes a metal called the attracted metal sometimes a magnet under a magnetic insulator called the resistor which has a magnet underneath it but above the attracted metal called the resistance magnet sometimes a metal only when there is an attracted magnet to move since the chamber magnet is stronger than the resitance magnet but since there is a resistance magnet or metal ,the resistor follows the attracted metal or magnet until it is obstructed from moving by the resistance obstructor or the fully extended or compressed spring ,thus making the resistance spring to make the resistor go back to its natural position and that is near the resistance wall, thus covering the fully attracted attracting metal to make it the new attracted metal for the next cycle. mean while another metal and insulator comes into the chamber to become the new attracting metal and insulator for the next cycle, this motion either turns an internal or external rotor or both at the same time.
this is called the simple principle of magnetic perpetual motion.
Well, I've seen your photograph now, so let me say that I admire your enthusiasm, and I hope you and your brother go on to real scientific careers, with the Best of Luck to you, I'm sure, from all us on the Science Forums.
WOOD, you used WOOD?
only use metals and polymers is my guess...
Hey, I'm still not clear on what in the world a perpetual motion device is. Would someone mind telling me?
Secondly, if it is what I get the feeling it is, as long as their is air in it, or has something that will cause friction it will eventually stop. If I totally misunderstood this, please inform me.
scientists dont make up laws cause they dont succed doing wht they want to do. They come up with laws based on the observations they see.
And the laws of energy conservation is broken constantly. thats also a law of the nature.

a perpetum mobile is a machine that keeps going forever. Never stops and also u can extract energy from it. THe problem with such devices is that it doesnt count in friction as a force. When gears and stuff rotate and move they experience friction wich takes away some of the energy from the machine and ehats up the engine. ANd this heat is useless energy waste. So if u put in like 500 joules it might after one turn be 499 left, and so on until u reaches 0 and the perpetum mobile has stopped. And to extract energy from such device is highly unlikly cause the amount of energy we talk about can only be created from nowhere is such a small timefram that we humans simply can not realise it and is also highly unlikly
