Summary: The continental drift may be explained by an expanding Earth only.

The fascist "scientists" who love censorship "care."

I'll tell you why you should care.

Either the truth means something to you or not.

If the truth means anything to you, you should care.

If the truth doesn't mean anything to you, then let the fascists keep brainwashing children and society with false 20th century fundamentalism to be primitive cavemen and morons.

I have no idea what that's supposed to mean 3 lines do not usually tell anyone anything about anybody anywhere (hooray of alliteration)

I'm guessing the general idea is some boffin somewhere has decided that continental drift is due to the earth getting bigger which is a load of manure

firstly if the earth was getting bigger then the continents would get bigger since the continents are earth

secondly we know how continental drift happens it's because we have a spinning dense core, if you fill a blender with honey and sprinkle cornflakes on top, when you turn on the blender the flakes will begin to move
It's not how many questions you ask, but the answers you get - Booms

This is the Acadamy of Science! we don't need to 'prove' anything!

    1. Total Science is a troll who is convinced that the Earth is expanding, possibly due to some mysterious process occuring at the core/mantle boundary that converts energy (source unknown) to matter.
    2. Please note the date of the reference. In 1960 plate tectonics was not yet in the literature. The evidence for it was falling into place, but there were still several alternative explanations for orogenies and tectonic activity in general. An expanding Earth was a valid alternative at this time, based on the available data, or more precisely the lack of data.

The contention from TS is that the crust of the Earth splits apart, at the mid-ocean ridges and expands in that way. TS rejects the existence of subduction zones.

This is completely wrong. Plate tectonics are powered by convection currents in the mantle.

Total Science, your nonsensical remarks about fascist scientists and censorship are out of place in a thread in the Earth Science forum. If they are intended to provoke the very censorship you claim exists be aware, it will. This forum has rules. You are here as a guest. You will adhere to the rules. You are being given the opportunity to spout your nonsense to the forum audience. Be grateful for that. If you resume your snide remarks, or make provocative statements like your last post, then they will be deleted.

i'll tell you why i've stopped caring : you keep regurgitating disproven science as if it was new and ground-breaking, which you only can do by denying that subduction exists and that rocks of oceanic origin can be found on continents

the fact that you've now started a thread on the subject for the umpteenth time is just plain silly

that's why i'm past caring : you're not looking for truth, you're looking for confirmation of your own prejudices

Very good. I do care about your truth Total Science, why it is. You formed this belief for no random reason, and I'm sure you defend it for a reason deeply important to you. The core as far as I can see is that "subduction is a myth", and this crystallized when you lived in California, regarding the Subduction Zone, if I'm not mistaken. There must be more to the story you're not telling us, or, I suspect, yourself.

Yes you have motives beyond disinterested truth seeking that just happened on this particular. We all discriminate, and not very consciously. You picked this one thing and for unknown reasons you're passionate about it. Why? Is it symbolic to you? Is the mythical subduction zone tied to your life in some way?

I mean, regardless of the scientific worth of what you've said, it's hugely important to you. And that in itself is worth looking into.

    I hope I'm 100% transparent here.

ah sorry I missed the date

yeah that's what's I meant, completely forgot the words tectonics and convection currents so I resort to a crude metaphor type thing, I guess it didn't work

Total Science seems to be a avid follower of the man they call Neal Adams, a Comic Book artist who also created the Expanding Earth Theory, (which is a load of shit/manure etc..). Earth has a set size, the plates float on Top of the mantle and are pushed around by Currents which can push them under each other, collide or spread apart, and that is called Plate Tectonics.

You can see all the stuff Neal Adams has made here, Its all just nonsense...
