    Attiyah's interpretation of Baily's beads

    Attiyah's "Baily's Beads"

- Although Baily's beads are related to the depressions and valleys located on the Moon's terminator during the events of total and annular solar eclipses, they are not parts of the sun's limb.
- Most of the lunar depressions and valleys on the lunar terminator lie under mini pseudoionosphere-magnetosphere systems.
- The lunar local pseudoionospheres are formed primarily by the effect of the solar X-rays and UV light.
- Usually, the solar wind strongly enhances the mini pseudoionosphere-magnetosphere systems over the lunar depressions and valleys located at the terminator.
- The coupling of the solar wind and the lunar mini magnetospheres maps in the lunar mini pseudoionospheres generating electric currents.
- The solar wind-enhanced mini pseudoionosphere-magnetosphere systems can work as discharge tubes that are capable of producing light.
- Baily's beads are always there on the Moon's terminator. They are related to the phenomenon that is so-called "the horizon glow of the Moon."
- Baily's beads are seen during the solar eclipse only when they become not outshined by the brilliant background that the sun normally forms behind the Moon.
