Not who you want... who you think it will be.

Its hard to figure, not knowing the Democrat nominee at this point or what all will happen between now and November. If a McCain/Clinton race, think the % will be 52/48 McCain and if Obama, more like 50/50, at least as of today...

Unfortunately and deeply depressingly, it will definitely be McCain, on the grounds of "national security". The Democrats have put forward two candidates that are unelectable.

    Why?

A considerable number of Americans hate Bill Clinton, especially his wife. QED

Are we to believe that the Americans will vote for someone whose first name rhymes with "Iraq", whose middle name is Hussein and whose last name rhymes with "Osama"? And I've said nothing about him being black?

    Go figure

Oh how I hope you are correct, looking at it from a distance. Maybe I am just to close...My State, New Mexico, should have gone 80-20 for Hillary and did in some districts, but in all it was 49.9-50.1 for Hillary.

Obama has generated enthusiasm in groups that do NOT normally vote.
The young, poor and black. In some places, like Wyoming or Iowa where 2% are black, he is getting large votes. In States with high black %, they are voting or participating in primaries (not normal) and voting up to 92% for him (Mississippi) even though Hillary is a Democrat and not much different in policy than him.

McCain, though my choice has an age problem with the young and not well liked by his parties Conservative branch. This could be for a 'stay home' mentality for the aged or Latino vote, which are 2nd and 3d best demographics. Military first, but then thats gone Republican for many years.

I would like to think, being Black or a name is not important. Factually it will be and what worries me. Many people Will vote for him thinking they will then be excused for some perceived injustice of their ancestors, or just vote for because they don't like the War or as mentioned above, because is is the same race as them. He is very inexperienced, has some very bad ideas on what government, under our constitution, is authorized to do, has no understanding of American Foreign Policy, which he will have to maintain and has both a checkered past in Religious affiliation and in the Illinois Government.
