That would be very sad but is there evidence that Boris Johnson's input has been particularly beneficial in the UK's struggle against this virus?

Or are you concerned with ramifications in the general political arena?

I think such a scenario is very difficult to predict but I would remark that the Tory party have quite a strong majority in Parliament and may be immune to political damage even if they lost their leader.

Of course it may be that they succumb to infighting which could be very harmful to them.

As much as I dislike the man politically I wish him no harm and hope that he makes a speedy recovery ,along with the many others in the same unfortunate situation as his.

From the other side of the pond.....here's hoping Boris beats this. Trump seems to be doing his best to kill us, so they say .

Indeed, he seems to have been lucky.

Perhaps he overworked and so benefited disproportionately from rest and recuperation

I think that ,had he needed to have gone onto a ventilator his chances of survival may not have been very good as that seems to be the general expectation.

John Prine died recently.Surprised that I was unaware of his output/input until this point ....now I appreciate that his was a big loss.

Does anyone know how Rumpelstiltskin is getting on? He was last seen running like hell out of Downing St, on the day it was announced Bozo had got the lurgi. But too late, because he then got it too, apparently.

I was certain that I had replied to your post but obviously not. I did not realise that Dominic Cummings was a dwarf and to compare him to Rumpelstiltskin is perhaps unfair on the Brothers Grimm. Anyway, moving on, Dominic Cummings has shot himself in both feet and the head for breaking the lockdown rules by a Royal Mile or two. For the Guardian reading Leftwaffe this is manna from heaven, the chief/senior advisor to the government is now entering the realms of " Acta est fabula, plaudite! "
