I'm glad whenever a politician plans to aid scientific research with federal funds, especially research that could benefit thousands of human beings. Here's the article....Obama seeks $100M to unlock mysteries of the brain - CNN.com

Ah, but with $100,000,000 in grants, perhaps they can find a cure.

I hope you're not being serious here... that heavy kind of partisanship would be petty, don't you think?

While such blind partisanship might appeal to the anti-intellectual side of the Republican party, it really shouldn't have much place in modern society; it also hurts the party.

I support 1 billion a year for brain studies. A lot of people have or know someone with brain issues right? I also support 10 billion a year to feed all the children. People still like children, right? Can I also support 50 billion a year at christmas time to irraticate homelessness?

Quick, quick, get it out there, lets buy votes, let people know how awesome I am!

Billions each year are spent on neuroscience, and it has been that way for decades. 100 million is not going to do, or change, anything. Good for politics though..... "Hey, look at me! I am going to fund cures, I am great!"

I remember when the private sector were always trying to find "cure" for things with their PRIVATE funds. It seems now a days the government is putting more tax payer money into this research which isn't paid back ever and any new "cures" are patented by the company that finds them which means they also set prices for their cures. So the taxpayer pays to find cures and then pays again for the cure.

Nah, that money is much better spent on superfluous wars and fallacious health care plans.
