Seems as though when more than two candidates are involved that a negative vote cast against an unthinkable choice would prevent the dilution of a voter's impact. Sometimes we could live with either Tweedle Dum or Tweedle Dee in charge, but Dogface would bring on the end of the world. A vote for a Tweedle would be cutting one's vote in half whereas a negative vote against Dogface would have industrial strength.

As the most important part of democracy is not choosing your politicians but, rather, being able to get rid of corrupt or inefficient ones, this sounds like a sensible idea. Perhaps we should have two votes; one "for" and one "against".

Similarly with the online petitions to governments that are all the rage now; I more often see one I would like to vote against than for. It may be easy to find 1000 people to vote for some random idea, but that still leaves several million who may be against it (or just not think it important). They need a voice!

    That would be grand.

While we're at it, we should introduce a multiple choice ballot too. Then you could vote both for the credible candidate (Republican or Democrat) and for the independent (Tea Party, Green Party..... etc...) Why not give voters all the options possible? It really doesn't hurt anything.

One might take a longer view and ask what behavior on the part of voters most affects parties. Because ultimately we want to shift party policy, not just which candidate wins the next election. I think that parties, being vote-sucking machines, tend to overvalue votes they might-just-capture. They adjust policy to win those voters just outside their fringe. So, one's vote counts most when it is flirted. Ironically, this actually recommends voting for your ideal - regardless of that candidate's chances.

Our current President has made it painfully clear that he doesn't have has much power to change anything without Congress supported it. I say we get rid of the members of Congress at the same time as the President and vote all new ones in so we can get something accomplished while they are in office.

    no

Concentration of wealth is concentration of power and influence, The media is propaganda the people are lied to manipulated and deceived, the Wall Street Mafia runs the treasury regardless of which two-party dictatorship flavor is elected, Zionists have colossal influence over the media, politicians and key functions of the state, secrets are rampant ( ) , the two parties control the presidential debate, the system is high-jacked and corrupt to the CORE and is NOT democratic, not transparent, not open.
