    G'day all,

Does social democracy more incline to democracy rather than socialism?

or does that mean a social democratic country must have a people/representatives elected president, a market without harsh regulation, yet the state still own part of national economy?

In this sense: is china a SD country. I suppose the answer is "no", but why and which special feature of SD China is lack of?

Uh, democratic socialism is an ideology which values individual liberty and the democratic process. It believes in market control, although usually limited, and relies heavily on social contract theory, and operates off the principle that the government's role is to improve equality of citizens.

China is not a democracy, nor does it seem to think individual liberty matters, so it is not a democratic socialist state. I think that should be pretty obvious. China is barely even a socialist state. It has essentially evolved into a Corporate Statist dictatorship.

So democratic socialism = social liberty + limited economic regulation ?

is that the way US tend to be, if financial reform can be done?

The US is more of a liberal democracy, Sweden is the best example of a socialist democracy. Most of the countries in the West fall between the Liberal ideal of complete economic liberty and a mild amount of socialism.
