If anyone would like to see what the bottom %1 of this planets intelligence looks like, I suggest you watch this.

Good grief, that's a bit harsh. You almost make me want to come to the defense of Republicans.

    Almost.

do you see how nbc covered it, an obvious bias, it was horrible, as bad as fox network. they cut it way short and did not mic or tape the audiance so everyone looked horrible as they paused for an applause that we couldint hear so as to make them look strange. FOX actually covered it in good quality although their alerts were retarded "ALERT: McCain is a Rebel!" and so forth

Did you hear Sarah Palin's speeches?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMbkFlfRTpQ

You see, YOU CANNOT DENY WHAT PEOPLE SAY ON TV, if they said it, they said it!!! The largest problem I encounter when dealing with the Republican is their sheer will to seem correct at all times, they will never accept that they were wrong! If it came down to the point where I would be proven correct if the sky was blue, the republican would instantly say that the sky is actually green! With this though, it is much harder to deny the truth.

I will be frank with you and hope that some shred of intelligence persists (not targeted towards any of the posters, yet), I, am very good at manipulating people. Yes, very good, but this does not mean that I use it. Along with that, I am very good at figuring out how to bypass security, and how to cause massive devastation. But why would I want to do those things? I only want to become either a physicist or businessman...and, do you think I would like someone to hack my bank account, or blow up the gas station next to my house? No! So I use my mind and REVERSE ENGINEER IT to PREVENT these things from happening. If any of you watch the show criminal minds, one of the characters I believe is represented as a person fully capable of killing people and getting away with it! Does he do this though? No...instead he reverse engineers his mind to CATCH THE CRIMINALS. I do the same with my mind and often help out associations with preventative techniques to make sure certain bad things never happen. I think, "how can I kill as many people as possible and get away with it with the least number of resources". I though about this for a while and came up with quite a few ways that could easily be done by anyone. Naturally this is a problem, so I E-mailed various agencies and told them about these loopholes. They never E-mailed me back, but I hope they received my messages. Back to the point, I could be like Bush, McCain, Hitler, or Mussolini and do what ever damage I want to the world, but, I do not want to do that. I believe in the saying, "Do not do to others what you would not like to be done to yourself". I hate those people and believe contradiction to be the worst of sins, therefore I want to help the world out as much possible to reduce suffering. How do I do this, to start at least? MAKE SURE MCCAIN DOES NOT BECOME PRESIDENT. I have already covered my basic end of democracy and will vote for Obama (still not a GREAT person), yet, that is only one vote out of some 250 million! Which is why my blood pressure rises 50 points upon watching these misguided morons cheer their little buddies on. What makes this worse, is that I cannot seem to reason with them! Republicans are like theists!

On to the video, of who will PRACTICALLY OWN THE ENTIRE DAMN PLANET IF MCCAIN DIES!!!

"We both grew up working with our hands. I was just your average hockey mom"

After she said that the entire audience applauded. Yes, people applaud for a reason, obviously she said something that they liked. Most people are average, most people do not have a Gulfstreem, 10 million dollar house, or the view of the universe that I possess. Most people grow up like everyone else, perhaps they join a band, perform in school musicals, or do anything else that teenagers consider a perk. Then they go on to work somewhere, doing whatever task for the world so that we can maintain our lives...so that we can continue living for the sake of being alive. These people, and they know it on some level or another, are insignificant. I AM insignificant. I would not really care if I saw an asteroid entering the atmosphere about to send me to oblivion! Life is pointless, but, since I am here, I might as well try to do the most significant thing a human being can do. For some this would be becoming the president of a country, for others this is becoming the worlds greatest pianist, and for me this has now become striving to learn the secrets of the universe through my own logic. I have the sheer will and determination to become the best...anything less is as good as being dead for me. I will not accept living for the sake of living, and at least subconsciously, other people feel the same way. They want more....who on this planet would not accept $100,000,000 or a magical stone that entrusts them with infinite knowledge, or perhaps the time needed to obtain either? No one! These people want to be part of the bigger picture, and this women knows it. By getting close to them and saying that she...USES HER HANDS, and is a SOCCER MOM from one of the least populated states in America, these people, these poor poor people, feel as if they can become her to an extent by means of representing her by voting. If they know that they put a person in power by their own will, a person like them, they feel like a part of them is in power, and even if it is only a small part of them, it still gives them satisfaction with being alive, at least more than before. This women and many of the Republicans know this...ITS CALLED APPEALING TO YOUR VOTERS, and it actually works when half of the nation is stupid enough to elect someone like George Bush. He was a good ol' boy from TeXaS...so all the other good ol' boys said, "Why dunt we elect this here fella since hese one of us?"

Then she goes on to the usual bullsh*t and talks about how she has done these great things. Well guess what, she does not have anything to back up many of these statements. "And when I found corruption there I fought it hard". Do you know how broad of a statement that is? How many corrupt people you could have dealt with? The people here this and they applaud her, without any specifics as to what exactly she did.

Oh!!! I used good old boy to describe their mentality, and while going through the video, she said the same thing! What do you know.... She said she stands up for the good old boys....yes, the redneck republican morons that like her because she is one of them. She is a racist basta*d just like the rest of them, how nice.

"I told them thanks, but no thanks on that bridge to nowhere" Oh my god, she stopped a bridge from being constructed, thats real vice president material there.

Time after time she says something true, like 'people elect us to do the right things in public offices'. Well of course!!! No shit! Like we would elect someone if we did not like them. Even if she was entirely like them personally, she could make a statement like, "The freedom of African Americans was a stepping stone towards a better America", and she would still loose all of her voters and supporters! Just tell the people what they want to get elected. That is the Republican philosophy. Look at Obama, he did not say this! He said in his speeches that he will not treat the American citizen like an idiot, he will not tell them what they want to hear just so that he can be elected by them...he said that he will tell them the truth, whether they like it or not, of what we are going to have to do to sustain our way of life and maintain what we hold most dear to ourselves.

She says so many times that they will fix things, they will do things to fix things requiring that certain things by certain people be done. No specifics! We will help you guys out, we will fix the economy, we will stop violence, BUT HOW. TELL US! Obama actually tells you in his speeches what is needed, exactly, for things to be done. He lays out a plan and tells you every step that is needed. People say that he is a great speech maker, and Republicans say the same, but only to prey on him! 'oh, he may be a great speech maker but it is not like he will live up to his words', and you even sometimes hear, 'sure he is a great speech maker, but so was Hitler'. Here is what is going on....Obama has the speech skills of Hitler, but McCain has the malicious intent! Luckily for him though, Americans are allot dumber than Germans and do not require a brilliant speech maker to win over their souls! You only need 2 low class idiots of the same grade as Bush to convince them that they are the best candidates for the job!

Any intelligent person respects people like Kant and Plato, correct? Good. Their books, their poems, analogies and metaphors, are all like small to massive speeches. Obama could either use the same format as them and write it down, or he can try to reach people without having to wait hundreds of years and just say it out loud to the people. I am a very bad speaker, but when I am passionate about a subject and know that I am right, my speech skills exceed that of some of the best speech makers in History. And yes, at times that feeling was triggered while writing on this forum. It was also triggered on some essays that my professors exclaimed 'reminded them of some of the greatest writers in history'. Things like your eyes, artistic and therefore writing and talking abilities really are a door to the soul. Give me any of those, even any derivation of artistic ability, and I can tell who you really are and what your true intentions are. After looking at Obama and McCain, I can tell you with sincerity, that Obama is the most capable politician at this time to run the White House. While I may only be one small vote, I am one large voice.

Sorry people, I'm on fire today.

A quote from last night speech of Palin:
Al-Qaeda terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America, hes worried that someone wont read them their rights, she added.
    "he's" - she's speaking of Obama.

Any opinions? It's completly manipulative and a dangerous sentence.
Plus arrogant I would say. If I may.
Arrogant because 'rights' is what what the rest of the world is trying to instaure beyond all. Seems like she's above all of this.

Thank you timel, I needed a Canadian to say that (I love Canada, and find Canadians on average more intelligent, better informed, and easier to talk to than americans. I swear! The people I try to talk politics to here are so stubborn.)

Good website. She is only another low class redneck dipsh*t looking to gain power, like Bush did.

Sarah Palin is a foil like Dan Quayle, right?

The way I understood the VP foil, then, was that in response to mounting attempts at presidential assassination (Reagan), Quayle imposed a psychological barrier to would-be assassins. No group would dare to knock off President Bush (senior), for the alternative was so much worse.

I guess my theory gains credibility if Palin goes out of her way to seem both a terrorist's and an American's worst nightmare.

Everyone should watch Bill Maher; he just revealed that the man who Sarah Palin's daughter is going to marry stated something along the lines, "I'm just a good old boy who likes to shoot shit...you mess with me and I'll f*ck you up". Yes, and apparently this is a forced marriage, meaning that this women approves of this rednecks values. Do you really want a family like this to reside in the white house?

"Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support."

This women actually APPROVES of the baby. A teenager!!!! Isn't it wonderful, her life is ruined because they didn't want to pay the money for a condom?

Even on Larry King tonight, Michael Moor was on, discussing THE TRUTH behind various aspects of the republican party. The truth is getting out, not even the republican slime machine can stop it.

America's probably already gone. People want to elect this woman because she will support their own short sightedness. If the common people already want that, then there's no way to turn the tide, and some of us just might have to accept that we're on a sinking ship.

My worry is when the con's will inevitably start forcing the libs to go along with their foolishness. They'll be just dying to hear some liberal state say it plans to secede, so they have an excuse to point a million guns in that direction.

The thing with cons, is that, as individuals, they believe in responsibility (though that's getting less and less true), but as a group, it's always someone else's fault when the economy tanks.

Palin Family for VP? Maybe voters are more comfortable electing an institution (family, typical messed up family) than electing an inscrutable and probably deceitful individual? Does her personal qualification matter so long as she's an unsophisticated working mom and banal embodiment?

Then McCain should present himself as representative of another institution... the army of course.

Vote for Army & Family, institutions you know and trust.

Maybe Americans just can't relate to Obama? He makes people uncomfortable by expecting them to think: "Elect me, and I'll make you think for four years!"

Say, how about a nanny candidate? One who promises to tidy and simplify government, so even a child can understand it.

I HATE politics! Just talking about it gets me hot under the collar. I just don't understand the tendency of people to resign themselves so totally to the guidence of one guy. I have watched some of the recent american election BS and just feel contempt for the sheer fakeness of it all. Not that it is only american politics that is guilty of this, but watching the republican convention makes me think that it is not really the politicians' fault, is it? They are only catering towards that which their followers want. The state of politics is a direct reflection on the state society, in that the general fakeness of politics would not be on if people were able to recognise it as such. Obama et al are certainly also guilty of this, but as far as I can tell to a much lesser degree than McCain et al. I really hope for Americans' and the worlds'sake that Obama wins.

Ms. Palin, in short has done for the Republican Party and/or Conservative Base what no person has done since Ronald Reagan (1980). She is no Reagan, has some faults but what she did do in four days and two speeches was remarkable.

Why? IMO, she represents what most Americans, especially the women wish they could be. Just as we watched 'Dirty Harry' say and do what we can't or are afraid to in the movies, she has presented a lifetime (42 years) of actually doing what her convictions actually are and with some degree of success at three levels...Personal/Business/Political.

KALSTER; Party Conventions are a celebration of the primary system, today. They are scripted to introduce, promote and launch THEIR candidate(s) into the campaign season for the Presidency. This year 40 million households tuned, in the US, tuned in to hear the McCain speech, 39 million to hear Palin, about the same as fro Obama. These unprecedented stats are remarkable in themself, does show this years interest in just who will be elected, possibly generating a new breed of candidates, social science majors and a host of independent thinking Americans.

The importance of who wins, is not going to influence much more than the elections in 2010 (Congressional) and the next National Elections in 2012. There won't be peace on the world, an economic boom or will any difference in societies change.

McCain/Palin, IMO will win and have felt McCain would have anyway. The Palin story however give hope that Americans are basically a consistent, conservative and patriotic bunch that can elect people on other than party affiliation or some desire to gain something from who does win. That to achieve something, will not make you a target for those that cannot or will not try or that somehow government is actually responsible for everything perceived bad that happens or that the individual in this country is capable of truly achieving anything.

Obama and McCain are tied in the polls, within the margin of error. Does this mean, by your logic, that Americans can't relate to McCain as well?

He makes people uncomfortable by expecting them to think: "Elect me, and I'll make you think for four years!"
Yep, we all know that thinking begins north of the 49th parallel.

Err... sorry I didn't mean to offend.

My first point was, McCain and Palin seem more representative of institutions (the soldier, the family) than Obama is. What institution does Obama represent? I speculated voters may be more comfortable electing familiar aspects of society as embodied by those candidates, than electing an individual mind. Regardless of what McCain says, you know what he is. For sure you can trust him to sympathise with the troops, right?

My second point was, Obama seems to promise nuanced and sophisticated debate, reaching out to all Americans. I think many would rather a president who doesn't bore them with details, and just does the job.

My last point was (and I don't know this applies to any of your candidates) politicians may appeal to citizens who find politics overwhelming by promising to "clean up" politics. On one level, this could mean they'll launch yet more complicated processes to investigate and disentangle excessive bureaucracy and fraud, etc. (wake me when it's over). But on another level one may take it to mean politics will be simplified so that citizens need not feel obliged to active vigilance - the "clean up" president will make everything black & white and easy to follow.

My point is you made an irrational generalization followed by an oblique insult. It gets tiresome.

On the issues, I believe Obama will win because in this election, unlike the last one, the Democratic candidate will not have to fight for his base of traditionally "blue" states. I also question the accuracy of polls because (as has been mentioned in the media) polls are conducted by land-line telephone interviews and don't necessarily reflect the opinions of the large numbers of mainly younger voters who only have mobile phones.

My opinion on Palin - an unpleasant, sarcastic woman. However, I'll wait to see her in some probing interviews, such as the one Joe Biden did this morning on Meet the Press before forming an opinion about her abilities. When is Palin going to be on Meet the press? Anyone know?

I want to know her views on economics. Does she support all-out Friedman style free trade (a la Reagan, Thatcher, Pinochet, Rove) or is she a little bit Keynesian? I want to know how she's going to be "a friend in the White House" to special needs children when she was the opposite in Alaska. I want to know if she would put the Social Security Administration on ebay. There are many questions.

I was watching one of my favorite political shows (more logical though), Bill Moyers, and observed once again standard republican stupidity. In an interview with McCain, the reporter asked him what he though of (P)(St)alins expertise with national security. McCain responded by talking about her skills with the economy. What the f**k? HE ASKED HIM ABOUT HER DAMN EXPERIENCE WITH NATIONAL SECURITY, NOT THE ECONOMY!!! After asking this question a few more times, and showing his frustration, McCain responded by saying, "Well, she has allot of energy". Any republican who hears this and still votes for McCain should be executed. This level of stupidity is beyond a doubt absolute. I am 99.5% confident on most of my views behind religion, but I am 500% sure about my views with politics, particularly what is going on now. Meaning, I feel 5x more malice towards any republican that goes along with this than I do towards someone who believes a god makes the sunset every night. It is enough to give me a heart attack! that so many people could be so damn stupid!

Not one of McCain's better moments but he couldn't say something like "No, she does not have any national security qualifications, but neither does Zerobama." But I can say it. She does not have any national security qualifications, but neither does Zerobama. And Zerobama is at the top of the Democrat ticket. Zerobama knew it, that's why he picked Biden.

Err.. isn't the obvious contrast between Palin and Biden?

If we're asking which Americans are better qualified in national security, the first distinction we can make is which Americans already proved their incompetence.

McCain could have pointed out that Biden disqualified himself by insisting as early as '02 that Iraqi dictator was such a threat to American national security, he must be eliminated. Biden corroborated the WMD and "defensive war" farce full-tilt. Biden's national security suffered from wild paranoia, and in fact led Americans to less security. He should not be given another chance to screw up on such a grand scale.

Better someone - anyone - who didn't drink the Kool-Aid. Like Palin.
