I am GCSE student studying into how magnets can be used to there full potential. My theory is that magnets could be used to form a containment field to hold different types of energy and also act as a defensive barrier. The prob;em that i have come across is that for the box to work there must be no gaps and this is what i cant not do because in one corner there always seems to be a place where the fields of the magnets leaves?? If this doesn't make sense your not the first! I would like someone to see if they could have a think about this because i recon that there are countless possibilities with magnets.

Hope is indeed a wonderful thing, but you can't eat it, or wrap it around yourself to stay warm.
I suspect there are a combination of reasons you haven't received a more helpful reply to your opening post.
    1) It has the awful ring of 'I have a theory', wherein the poster seeks to demonstrate (inadvertently) that the concept 'a little learning is a dangerous thing', is wholly true. This may not be the case for yourself, but it sure looks like it.
    2) You don't have a theory, you have, at most, a provisional speculation. If you want to be treated seriously on a science forum you need to show you have a passing knowledge of the language of science. That includes knowing what a theory is (and is not.)
    3) Your grammar and spelling are annoyingly poor. If you English is not your native language you are doing a very good job. If it is sharpen up please.
    4) What kind of energy is this containment field going to hold? Sounds like nonsense.
    5) "For the box to work..." What box? You never mentioned a box before. Do you mean the containment field? There is a big difference between a containment field and a box.
    6) etc

Dave, the above may seem unfair - perhaps it is, but then again you haven't had any other replies. Let's start again. Can you expand a little on your speculation? Ask some specific questions? Magnets are indeed facinating items, but so far this thread is not throwing any light on that fascination.

Ok basicly the big picture is that i believe that somesort of containment feild can be made by using magnets magnetic feild and i would like to know how to go about this if any one has any idias... I thought about 8 magnets 4 on top and 4 underneath sping like a helicopter roter?? Would this work or just create a lot of electricity??

Wouldn't a magnetic shield only work against charged particle beams? It wouldn't seem to be very useful for deflecting things like bullets.

The above link is an interesting article entitled, "Bose-Einstein condensate runs circles around magnetic trap." Is this sort of what you are inquiring about?
