Alright firstly yes I know anything about the Phil experiment is subject to huge debate on weither it really happened or not but anyone here thought about trying to construct a minature one using tesla coils and such?

Anyone got any ideas on doing something like this or maybe someones even tried it already (if so pls tell). Please give your feedback pls and pls dont give me a bashing about how its garbage and never happend. Lets just assume for the sake of this post that it did happen and it MAY be possible for someone to construct a minature one rather than this thread turning into just an endless list of posts of people disagreeing with the concept. Thx.

Could you start out by explaining what the Philidelphia Experiment Is. I myself have never heard of such and experiment. Maybe I just know it by another name.

Well it was allegedly conducted in 1943 using the whole Tempral field theroey to make a ship dissapear (USS Eldridge) do a search.

I read a short synopsis of it just now and the only thing I will say is that even if they did perform such an experiment I feel that theoretical physics wouldn't of been far enough along to have the supposed equipment working. This is just my take. I do however believe that it is theoretically possible. If we ever form the unified theory of physics and understand all the forces of the universe with maybe one mathmatical expression, It would probably be possible.

Ok.... I got "tempral field" and "ship dissapear". Anyone care to explain this experiment in more detail?

Stu, Google is your friend. Do a google search on Philadelphia Experiment and read about it. I think the Wikipedia article gives a good summary. Supposedly about 1943 the Navy did an experiment to bend light around a ship and make it disappear, somehow using Einsteins grand unification theory. It's all nutty stuff, tied up with UFOs etc. Of course Tesla gets dragged into it as always with this kooky stuff. Officially the ship wasn't even in Philadelphia at the time.

It was meant as an experiment to make ships invisible to rader. The theory was that they could bend light around a vessel to make it thus invisible to radar. But the light warped the spacetime continuum and left it out of phase for a while. The next experiment a few years later resulted in its motion in the spacetime continuum serparate to that of the universe which moved it a few hundered miles, then back and some crew being stuck to the bulkhead, spontaneous combustion (person given huge amounts of energy, then time returning to normal. From then, newt.

PS Einstein's GTOG (generalized theory of Gravitation was said to be used (the one he never completed or even published)), was used along side with people like Tesla and other great scientists.

Of course a lot of this is most likely bumcrumb but, there has to be some truth to it. I'd personally like to have all kinds of tests performed on The Eldridge, especially spectral analysis, against other same class ships. The Eldridge should have its structure altered and therefore detailed analysis will reveal any minor alternations in colour, who knows why they left it grey .

Here's the extent of the truth of it:

During this time it was common to use magnetic mines. One way to combat this was to de-guass a ship with a large alternating electromagnetic field, thus making the ship "invisible" to the magnetic mines. Somewhere along the line this became "an experiment to make a ship invisible".

No, it was everywhere and nowhere all at once.
The hand of time rested on the half-hour mark, and all along that old front line of the English there came a whistling and a crying. The men of the first wave climbed up the parapets, in tumult, darkness, and the presence of death, and having done with all pleasant things, advanced across No Man's Land to begin the Battle of the Somme. - Poet John Masefield.
