If you agree with string theory, and 11 dimensions, and the fact that light moves through only one dimension, how does that work? I can shine a single photon at a series of mirrors that will reflect to each other in random angles... If light traveled in only one dimension at a time, instead of us living in a three dimensional world, would it actualy be that OUR three dimentions are split up into an infinately huge number of dimensions? Light can't share dimensions... right?

I am puzzled as to why you say that light moves in only a single dimension. Clearly, at the very least, it moves through the three standard spatial dimensions. Can you clarify what you mean.

I was reading a book introducing string theory and multiple dimensions... mabey I was mistaken. But I was sure that that was what it said. anyway, that was a while back.

OH! nevermind, the light travels through three dimentions at light speed. It stated that everything traveled through the 11 dimentions, and shared it's motion that's why time slows as you move faster, because you're taking more of the motion through the three dimentions and taking some from the time dimention. It's strings that move through only one dimention. sorry.

Right. I see. I think strings can also move through all dimensions, it's just that they are one dimensional. (But I only understand string theory when it's explained with glove puppets. )
