    First, start by dong some research on your own. That's why they invented the internet.

    Don't only use the Internet. Use books and stuff like that 'cause you never know who wrote what on the Internet, so you have to make sure it's valid.

    then again, you rarely know if the person who wrote the book is a reliable source, so you have to check if that is valid as well.

    example: school books that explain relativity wrong.

    True, but it's easier to know the author of a book than to know the author of a web site, because the author of a web site could just write that his name is Joe Blow and he has a Ph.D from Harvard in physics but he really doesn't. On a book, you know the person is real and you can check their bio.
