A mirror will reflect any light that hits it. The light does not have to be travelling at a 90 degree angle to the mirror's surface, light coming in from the sides or above and below can also be reflected so you can see things that are outside the area if the mirror
Stand holding a hand held mirror facing a mirror. I heard there will be an infinite amount of images, not all visible on the hand held mirror’s reflection , each smaller than the previous. We can only see down to a certain size with naked eye so we’re not going to see the incredibly small images bouncing back, is that correct? Not only that but can a reflected image be smaller than a photon? It would seem to me that probably can’t happen, so is there a limit to how many reflections and if so not an infinite number?
There will be a practical limit as to how many reflections you'll get. Mirrors aren't perfect, they absorb and scatter some of the light that strikes them. Neither are they perfectly flat, so each reflection is slightly distorted. After enough repeated reflections, you'll have no discernible image. After how many reflections this happens depends on the quality of the mirrors.
