    You can see electromagnetic radiation (in a narrow range of wavelengths) that is what we call "light". You cannot see an electromagnetism outside this range.

    As PhDemon says, you can only see electromagnetic radiation within a very narrow range (less than an octave) of frequencies.

    What you perceive is the result of photons ("particles of light" that comprise the radiation) striking rods and cones in your retina. You don't see fields per se.

    is this akin to hearing sounds (range as I know 20hz-20khz)?
