Hello! If you would like to follow along on the build i can be found on reef2reef, monsterfishkeepers, and reefcentral under the title 1600 gallon Bioshock aquarium.

I have made it to the plumbing phase and plan on using a 4000gph submersible pump located in the sump (6 feet horizontally away) . My plan was to use 2" flex hose that enters through the top of the display tank and exits towards the bottom (approx 6ft down).

My question is when the pump water hits the water level of the aquarium will it be able to push down 6ft and exit or will the aquarium water push against it?

    Thanks!
