Some Saudi(!) scientists claim they came up with idea how to transfer data without any material means in difference from quantum teleportation of today which requires material channel of data transfer!

Here's the link to the actual paper. Reply to "Comment on counterfactual direct quantum communication" - ResearchGate

Interesting so, reading the actual paper from what I could get out of it, they send polarized photons between two systems. System 1 or Alice, shoots a stream of polarized photons H at system 2 or Bob. System 2 controlled by the scientists, has the ability to block these photons and resend them back to Alice as V polarized photons or keep the original state as H polarized photons, therefore its communication is similar to binary code (0 and 1), where H polarization is 0 and V is 1.

Bobs decision to block the photons will polarize them via optical interference, which sends back V photons, otherwise if kept the same sends back H photons. Alice's detectors will go off D1 for blocked H photons or V polarized photons (laser beams) and D2 for unchanged H photons.

The two systems can effectively communicate with each other without any photons physically crossing the transmitter.

That's what I got out of the paper.

Supposedly it works 95% of the time where no particle exchange between the sources. The photons can be found in the transmitter 50% of the time, but only travel through physically 5% of the time where they are detected with laser beams.

Thanks for the article. I'm still trying to understand Quantum Mechanics and hopefully String theory at some point.

So they still have physically travel between two parties? And how far could they be situated for communication?

So if some mistake corrector similar to parity bit checker will be used, 100% accuracy could be achieved?

Effectively this is still communication via a beam of light. Nothing will be communicated if the light beam is blocked. Calling this communication without physical means is highly inaccurate.
