Okay, this may sound stupid; but what actually IS magnatism ?
the way i see it Magnetism is a force that atracts or repels matter of any kind, not just metals or magneticly conductive materials, any and all matter is effected by a magnetic field, no matter what shape, size,or form.
Although to a lesser extent depending on the material. Some material is composed of mostly electrons or protons, and thus attracts to the magnet better. I think.Originally Posted by Michael W. Bush
i agree, but my point was all things are effected in one way or another by a magnetic field.
even living organisms excert strange effects when living in a strong magnetic field, if they were all of a sudden taken from that field they begin to exibit sickness and vertigo.
Where does the magnetic field come from......more precisly.........
Is it charged atoms ?
And if so, what stops all of the charged atoms within say the south pole; flying apart ?
Garbage, Go and look at ther relative mass of an electron to a nuetron before you say 'mainly composed' - Then study the table of the elements for afters.Originally Posted by Jeremyhfht
Might have something to do with the fact that our neurons fire off electricity and if they are exposed to a strong enough field they behave differently ?Originally Posted by Michael W. Bush
(We also have a certain amount of iron in our blood)
Can anyone answer my question? What stops all of the positivly or negatively charged atoms at one end of a magnet from flying apart as they would repel each other ?
as far as i understand you can use Depolarization to decrease the positive and negative charges. or you can use Hyperpolarization to increase positive or negative charges in a magnetic field.
