At the very beggining i wanted to explain why i put this thread into Physics part of forum. You guys surely know that u can get pretty much demotivated if u think too much about existence. Why do we even try to do something, to find out new theories, if we dont even know the TRUTH. We know what our brain tells us, and we BELIEVE in everything that we know, but we will never be able to know the TRUTH. Aren't we like birds in cage of our own mind? Or it is actually possible to get to the SOURCE, to the TRUTH. It is funny tho, that we say "our brains" not "us". Like our ideas and thoughts weren't even made in brain and only saved there. Hmm. Just why i made this thread?

Except that "why" isn't a question that physics answers.

but we will never be able to know the TRUTH.
    How do you know that?

'Why' is boring. 'How' is far more interesting.

Because all comes up to our brain. And brain didnt show you the reality, brain shows you his imagination about world made trough senses. A simple example - Colors. Now read the rest of my post and you will see the question "or we can?". Im not sure obviously, but if u would look at current theories there is no way to know the TRUTH. All is up to brain.

All? There's no input from outside the brain then?

And brain didnt show you the reality, brain shows you his imagination about world made trough senses.
So ALL senses are ALWAYS faulty? Even a consensus of senses? Independent checks?

    A simple example - Colors.
    A simple counter-example - spectrography.

Now read the rest of my post and you will see the question "or we can?".
    Yeah?

Admittedly you have got "Or it is actually possible to get to the SOURCE, to the TRUTH." in there, but your claim "but we will never be able to know the TRUTH" seems pretty final.

Please point out these "current theories".
"Truth" with regard to what, exactly?
Are these theories a blanket denial about ALL truths, or just certain ones/ aspects of "truth"?

    PUI.

    Posting Under the Influence.

Science doesn't deal in TRUTH. You want religion; two doors down, on the left.

MODERATOR NOTE : oxygel, can you explain in more detail what the point in question actually is ? At the moment I see little reason for this thread to be in the Physics section...it is probably more suited to "General Discussion".

If you reapply the word verbatum, sure. What I mean is, "Why do we kill people?" is not as enticing to me as "How does the brain work in a psychopath?"

Why is too philosophical for me, for the most part.
