First of all sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in, but this question has some physics, chemistry and biology in it so I wasn't sure...Does enthalpy exist in a forum? If not, how do chemical reactions take place? I'm looking at how a protein will fold in a vacuum and I came across the deltaH aspect. If the folding process is endo/exothermic how does it transfer the energy? Would it just be through radiation? Or would it just not fold? Thanks!

I can't comment on the behaviour pf proteins in a vacuum but any process which involves a change in enthalpy would also involve either a loss or gain of heat. The only way in which this could happen in a vacuum environment would be by radiation, provided that the system you are referring to is not in contact with something else - for example, a protein embedded in some other substance.
