we can. Old telephones used to use a carbon microphone. This had a cartridge full of carbon grains. The changing pressure of sound waves would push the carbon grains together changing the resistance. Many modern microphones use cermet (ceramic-metal) materials to achieve the same thing.
how do you want to use it?any microphone can act like a sound resistor.
