I am 14 and I have a science exam in a weeks time. I need to study electricity, electric currents, heating effects, chemical effects, series and parallel circuits and all sorts of things. But I'm having trouble remembering all of these things for my exam. Does anyone know any methods for studying science that will help me?

Reading over notes won't help... Science is a subject you need to understand, not swat.

Study for about 1H and a half, take a break, go play outside with your dog f you have one... after 15 minutes come back inside and continue studying your noteboks, after you think you know everything do some examples, enumerations, take your manuels and do your exercises, then, you check your answers with your notebooks and study back your flaws all over again.

An hour and a half!!!!!!!!! I will start getting bored after 20 minutes. If you study while you're bored, you don't remember what you're studying! But thanks anyway. Geez I'm only 14...

A few good study habits to keep in mind:

Try to study in an enviroment that you expect the room your taking the test in to be. If quite, make sure the rooms quite. If you will be taking it at a desk, try to study at a desk.

Place a small dot on the back of your left hand. Memorize a particularly hard fact and assosiate it with this dot.

Do take breaks while studying, but always come back. Try to assosiate the material with stuff you know as well.

Lol, studying. I never have done it, probably never will short of memorizing scripts. Kinda glad I switched from a buisness major to a theatre major.

you already know your weakness. work hard to overcome it. involve yourself in group studies. have a evening walk to a park and relax for sometime.

I'm guessing you're not the only person in the class. Grab some class mates, go to a restaurant, have some food--or maybe just a beverage (depending on the loitering policy )--and crack open the books.

I'm guessing also that you have some questions at the end of the sections in your textbook. Do the questions and check them with your study partners.

And... the way I used to study (if I did at all), write out a cheat-sheet, memorize it word for word. My one teacher used to give essay tests... I'd just write a couple of pages to answer the questions (which he gave ahead of time) and memorize them word for word... I still remember some... 8).

Anyway... I've never done much studying... ... but I've heard these tips given before :-D.

Let us consider the three possible scenarios here.

    1) You have unfairly been given a week to learn the subject of electronics.
    2) You have been unable to study as a result of being in a coma.
    3) You have failed to keep up with your studies through sheer indiference to your future in this field.

In the case of '1', do not worry, have no fear, everybody in your class is going to fair the same.

If '2' is correct then a certificate from your physician should buy you enough time to sort things out.

If the reason is '3' then you are clearly not interested in electronics so why be concerned about whether you pass or fail?.

So as you can see, you have nothing to worry about.

Science is not a subject wnich could be learned a week before exams. You need to put in a lot of man hours. You need to put in atleast 2hrs of destraction free studies everday. Always try to undesstand the concepts never mug it up.
