Thread: how does a force field work?

ppl can u explain to me how a force field or an energy shield powerful enough to actually defect bullets? like the one in star trek or starwar

The only way that would work is a magneticfield strong enough to magnetize it and then deflect it off

can u explain it little bit deeper?

I am particularly interested in finding out a little more about the deflection of a lead mass (in motion) using a magnetic field. I thought thus far the only way to achieve a force field was to surround yourself with mini (ie energy depleted) black holes or if you cannot afford to find so many such exotic objects just put one on the end of a stick and point it roughly in the direction of the aggressor. Failing that you could always buy a new outfit made of Kevlar.

the idea with a amgnetic force field is that anything, even living things, becomes a magnet in a extremly strong magnetic field. So if the field is strong enough the bullet will become a magnet and the magnets will repell each other and thereby the bullet wont hit you

ive seen on dokumenteries where they have magnetized a spider, frog, strawberry, egg and by that make them float in mid air

yepp, saw it on a cokumentary, it was awesome to see, the magnet was 10 000 times stronger than the earth magnetic field on a area less than 20cm in diameter

oh yeah i saw a frog floating in this thingy with water in it in discover channel lol :P

you mean we can float? if we were small enough yes, the magnets? no research have shown that yet, but it might but most likly not. we are already exposed to strong magnetic fields
