I'm writing a science fiction story and would like to ask about generating artificial gravity as a way of traveling to the future. Well, from what I understand, gravity causes an effect similar to time dialation. Gravity can actually slow time down. In my story, scientists create wells to do just that. In the center of the well, seconds slow down to nanoseconds, and this becomes a form of time travel.
I'm guessing, of course, that this would be impossible to do in real life, since the energy requirements would be enormous... In my story, it takes the same amount of energy as the sun... Thankfully the scientists in my story have a supply of antimatter.
Anyways, if it were possible for scientists to generate a gravity well... Theoretically, wouldn't it allow one to sort of travel into the future?
