    To be invisible, you can bend light around yourself (in theory). Could you (obviously with some sort of machine) zap a vibration of sound with a counter vibration to cancel it? In theory, could it be done? I know how hard it would be

    Yes, it can be done for continuous noise, not so much for transients.
