Thread: Quantum physics in normal silicon chips

Hi,

I have often read that regular silicon chips work because of certain quantum physics principles, but I've been unable to find more information on this (I always come across quantum computing instead, which is not what I'm looking for). Could someone confirm/deny and possibly explain a bit?
