    Hell everyone,
I am new to this forum and also to this question,

    Here is what i need:
I am working on one project for which I need something like laser,
but laser can harm your eye so I can't use it.

What I need really is something like laser, to have a beam like laser(unimportant which color) and that it can throw light beam minimum one meter and that it can not harm your health and need to be cheap .

Conclusion something that will throw light like laser minimum one meter and that will not hurt your health in any sense and cheap.

For example modern projectors(and some old technologies like overhead projectors) they produce light which can't hurt your health, but I don't need all options that projector has, I only need one beam dot

If you want the beam to be thin I have a hard time coming up with a good substitute for a laser. Maybe you can find one with less effect? a weak laser pointer used responsibly is not very likely to cause any harm.

What kind of project is it?

maximum size of beam on surface can be approximately like this smiley .
I will pointing with that light on TV and monitor screens.

In other words, you can think that I want to achieve light mouse point on screen.

If something is not clear, ask me again.

You can get cheap laser pointers from ebay with a set of lenses which split the laser into little logos (batman logo, love heart etc). These lasers are cheap and mostly safe as they are only Class 2 lasers. The logos are about the size you require and spread the beam enough to make it less dangerous.

Check Ebay for "laser pointer with lenses" this should do the trick.

Check the Wikipedia article called ' Laser Safety'. It explains the various danger levels. I use 'blink safe' Class II lasers at work and they are pretty tame.

If the only requirement is that it hits a maximum sized area a specific distance away, just use an ordinary light and focus it through a lens on that specific point. It's not technically a laser, so I don't know if it would count?

now that is point, how to do that with lens:
1.Is there some device to buy or
2.Is there some "hack" to do this.

and the color of light can't be white, gray or black, other colors can,
best to fit are red or green or blue.

FYI you can't get a laser beam without a laser, just like you can't get light without a lightsource
