I had to look up the term. I'm amazed they teach you about this in Highschool.

If I understand this right then it is simply how far the wire stretches when you pull on it. So I would think you could just measure the wire's length when it is not attached to anything, then hang the wire off of a table or something and attach a weight to one end and measure it again.
I'm not entirely sure if that's correct, though. It looks like what it means, but I might be missing something.

It occurs to me that one should be able to measure Young's Modulus by recording the pitch change of a string instrument as various lengths of the string are wound around the tuning peg.
But I find myself quickly confused. Anybody steer me into clarity and information?
