In the Double slit experiment does the particle always go through the slit or does it sometimes hit the place where the closed slit is? I was thinking about it last night listening to a science audio book explaining variations of the double slit experiment and It never says in these books the little details. It would be very strange if it always goes through the slit and never just randomly hits the wall or some other part of the experimental apparatus.

The function of the probability wave created before the new function of the slits could cause the particle to hit the walls of your slit apparatus. However, the function of the slits is not a priori, and only effects the particle after it has passed through. Therefore, because it must pass through the slits first, the deviations implicated cannot cause the particle to hit the wall of the inner slits since that area is before the wave interference.

Of course sometimes hits. An absorbing slit cover, that is.

Does a photon sometimes.hit a shiny slit cover? No, "always" makes more sense here than
    "sometimes".
