Do you know why high voltages are always multiple on 11.Like 33 kv 220kv,11kV etc.
They aren't. Our generator operates at 22KV but that voltage is stepped up to 345KV for transmission. We also have a 138 KV line in the switchyard which is stepped down to 4160 volts for offsite power to the station.
I guess they are multiples of 220V. 220V is still commonly used as it's within the tolerance of the new 230V+-10% standard.Originally Posted by tusix
