You know that V-shaped electrical do-hickey in those old fashioned horror movies? Has anyone made one? I'm thinking about it, it sounds pretty simple to me, you just need an old tv (to get a power source with at least 15kV, some decent leads and a pair of high gauge wire. Surely it's not that simple right?

Alll you need is a neon sign transformer and a couple of welding rods for electrodes, built on when I was a kid. it's simple.

if i remember correctly i did some research once on how to make a tesla coil, and found that you could use a transformer from either a neon sign or a microwave, so that sounds like it might work for this as well. but yeah, google knows best.
