    How much energy is released when matter interacts with antimatter?

    Say one proton interacting with an anti proton?

    If in an absolute vaccum would antimatter exist for a long time? What causes it to vanish?

    To get total energy, use E=mc^2, where m is the total mass of the particles involved.

    In a vacuum, antimatter would last as long as the equivalent matter.
