I am looking into the possibilities of integrating cells or molecules into electical circuits and was wondering if anyone knows of any successful functional devices that have been constructed in this field?
    Many thanks,
    IH

Well, it actually has been done and it slowly is reaching commercial stage. Generically this devices are known as "biochips" and I think that the most developed field is that concerning chemical sensors able to detect very low concentrations of a target chemical.

i had much the same idea in another thread. it is about using organisms for nanotech. you can see my thread in the Biology section.
