I'll admit i'm using this forum somewhat as I've just come on here to settle an argument. My other half is refusing to get broadband, normal broadband not wireless, because she once read a newspaper article saying it is perminatly pulsing through the house and is harmful etc.
In short I'd like some scientific evidence either way if you don't mind.

Sorry for my ignorance btw :

It would be permanently pulsiing through the house (assuming you ran cables through the walls), but so is your AC power which is permanently pulsing and much, much stronger.

I know of no studies showing that broadband, wireless or not, is harmful.

There is all sorts of electromagnetic energy constantly impinging on you. Light for instance.

Radio waves from broadcast stations are also permantly pulsing through your house.

Does your wife go around wrapped in tin foil ? I don't recommend it.

Does she watch much TV ? I don't recommend that either.

The next accurate newspaper article that I see will be the first one, particularly on scientific and technical topics.

The local TV station recelty ran a story reporting that some group had found, in Zhu Zhu pets high levels of antimony and that "antimony is a kind of tin". Apparently reporters have changed the periodic table.

So much fun to put a finger in the open input of an oscilloscope...

Either you have a very large input jack or a very small finger.

Just hook a loop into the two jacks and see what you get.

if your other half is concerned about that then put her in a thick lead box

we are constantly bombarded with radiation, very low amounts of bad stuff (gamma xray etc) generated by the sun, everything we see is a form of radiation, every time you feel warm radiation is passing through you, the only thing that stops most of it is thick lead

then there are theoretical particles, it's estimated that several billion tachyons pass through your thumbnail every second

base line, cables are designed to carry the current, they wouldn't be very efficient if they leaked energy everywhere would they?

I'd tell your SO to be much more worried about global warming, wars. and radiation from their mobile phone
It's not how many questions you ask, but the answers you get - Booms

This is the Acadamy of Science! we don't need to 'prove' anything!

Actually it is estimated that no tachyons whatever pass through anything ever.

Did you mean neutrinos or something like that?
