What are the implications of the existence of Higgs Bosons, and how exactly will this bridge the gap between Relativity and Quantum Physics?

I understand that they are particles that give an object mass, or particle its mass. How exactly will this help though?

Ever moving into the 21st century, what postulates do you believe that technology will reach by the end of the 21st century supposing the Higgs boson is proved to exist in accordance with the Kardashev scale?

The Higgs boson is the last particle predicted by the Standard Model awaiting discovery.

It has little to do with unifying general relativity and quantum field theory.
However, other particles that may be uncovered at the LHC involving supersymmetry,if found, would be of greater impact.
