    Hello everyone ,

I am searching for information about an experiment that was originally Einsteins. It has to do with the subject of Relative Motion. The experiment was about not pretending that you are walking towards objects, but that you are remaining still, and that you're moving the earth like a giant treadmill under your feet. In other words, the objects are coming towards you. This was in a highschool physics textbook.
Unfortunately I'm a complete science noob and can't find anything about it on the internet, I'm not sure in what direction I have to look for. If anyone could help me that would be great.

Einstein did not do any experiment. He was a theorist. But he was famous for his thought experiments. These are visualisations of certain phenomena to illustrate, what the possible consequences of his theories were. I am afraid that the textbook you are referring to is not that precise. I can just imagine that this example is a visualisation of the equivalence of reference frames, i.e. that it is a priori not possible to distinguish between two inertial frames. The consequence is that there is neither an absolute space nor an absolute time.
