So I have a pendulous swinging blade which I need to attach small masses to (so that i can resolve forces F=ma etc.) Any ideas on the best way of doing this? I've thought about having increasing amounts of blue tac but that's probably not the best way.

why do you want to increase the mass of a pendulous blade???

it's an aluminium blade which is passing through a magnet to cause induction. i'm trying to find out the strength of the effect of induction.

Ah, okay, that's a better reason than what one might originally think. I'd make the blade shaped roughly like a Y cross section with a lid and gradually fill it with something like lead. That way, you increase the gravitational force only.
