# Thread: help with this physics question?

1. At the bottom of a ramp, Brad hits a patch of loose gravel and wipes out. Kirsten applies her brakes quickly to avoid hitting him. She is travelling at 6.5m/s when she applies her brakes and she accelerates at -2.6m/s^2. How long (time) does it take her to stop?

4. i'm not sure what the Guesss method is, so i will use the Suvat way of displaying it

simple application of an equation of motion will give you the answer

v = u + at

rearrange
t = (v-u)/a
