It's been a while since I visited this forum.

I just read about BEC and the coldest place in the universe.

And I came about : Light stopping upon reaching BEC.

I suddenly realized to question some things:
    1. Light is supposed to be affected based on material.
    2. Why is energy of material affecting light?

I maybe misunderstanding this. Light maybe is stopping because it has reached the environment of the BEC or maybe the BEC is absorbing the energy of light.

William, sorry but please keep off this thread.

Since light is energy, and quantum mechanics says that energy must be absorbed and released in specific quanta, I can certainly imagine that energy (or a lack thereof) within the medium would have an effect. If I understand things correctly, a laser would be a good example of this.
