fastest speed of spaceship?
what is max possible speed of spaceship in space before theory of relativity or small meteors stop it?

(let's say that there is unlimited source of power on ship)

If driven by a human, it will be the speed where a human body can still survive the Inertial G-Force.

If driven by robot or AI, it will be the speed where the materials can handle the Inertial G-Force.

I do not believe that there is an actual limit to the speed a ship can travel. However there could be waves or vibrations caused that destroy a sihp, when you get to those speeds. Oscillations and such. However I believe that with certain materials, rays, you could achieve speeds much faster then light.

There was never any concrete evidence that light speed was as fast as you can go. Someone just used numbers given to them by a government institution and said "based on these numbers and using these hypothetical formulas, light is as fast as it gets".

That does not do away with traveling faster then light for me. If light is traveling at 186,000 miles a second?
I am still not convinced.
It may take a length of time to excite a path, to emit rays of light. However the particles that proceed the beam, and cause the beam, get there ahead of the beam and the light. When you break the beam it appears the break is instant.

Mark 2= x2 Speed of sound
Mark 3= x3 Speed of sound

and so on...

It's Mach 1, 2 etc. Not Mark.

If you must quote these things, at least respect the great scientists after whom they are named.

Edit:

And I just checked Janus' link. Warp factor in Star Trek is actually a 3rd power 'geometric' calculation.

Therefore

Warp 1 = 1<sup>3</sup>c = 1c (the speed of light)

Warp 2 = 2<sup>3</sup>c = 8c (8 times the speed of light)

Warp 3 = 3<sup>3</sup>c = 27c (27 times the speed of light)

etc...

hello im new and well not highly educated but if time stands still to those not going the speed of light like einstien said wont going faster than light make time seem to go backwards? :D

as everything in the universe is light based so faster than light would affect physics?

G forces are experienced due to acceleration (change in velocity), not speed (the same as velocity for our purposes) itself. Assuming the craft has unlimited energy to accelerate, we could just accelerate at 1 G to very high speeds indeed. This would merely take time.
