    i found this page:

    both claim that the textbook explanation of lenses:

    is wrong.

    yet you have this:

    I don't think the first image from Wikipedia matches Beaty's example of a "wrong" illustration. The Wikipedia image is only showing the convergence of rays from infinity to a focal point. It does not purport to show an image at either side of the lens, as the "wrong" sketch does.

    The Wikipedia article below has both that picture and one that matches Beaty's "correct" diagram.
