For believers in the Christian faith, one of the greatest attributes of God is "omniscience". It means all-knowing. In other words, God knows everything that ever was, is now and ever will be. But there is an inherent paradox in this, or so it seems. Surely there is with respect to man's interpretation of this power.
God created Earth, placed humans here, and then determines who goes to heaven, and who goes to hell. Only those who walked the right path to heaven would enter. All others would face eternal damnation. (Or thereabouts.)
But if God is truly omniscience, he already knows what each of us will do in our lives, so why would he do such a thing? Above all, this seems like one of the greatest paradoxes posed by God's omniscience. If he knows everything that will happen, why fool around with all these activities? Shouldn't he have something better to do?
For an immortal, perhaps it is one way of passing eternity. After all, even a god needs to have some fun!
