Mystery & Dead Ends

The subforum needs something, and this is the best I could come up with.

Don’t get me wrong, I love science and appreciate scientists the world over. However, despite one’s scientific tendencies and/or outright skepticism of all things metaphysical do you think that there is some true underlying mystery we are not seeing or overlooking? Something you can’t quite put your finger on but you suspect that maybe, just maybe, is out there and if ever known, will bring everything into focus........also

I think people love a mystery. I used to read about Dr Louis Leakey as he searched for man’s missing link, hence my username. He thought he had it when Zinjanthropus was discovered, by his wife Mary no less. But in the end it turned out to be only one of many branches on the hominid evolution tree that unfortunately came to a dead end. Are there dead ends out there still? Could it be that many current scientific pursuits will eventually slam into a wall with no place left to go but the start over line?
