thoughts?
What I meant to ask is is consciousness actual?
there isn't a logico verbal comparison word...People who say I was dead or unconscious and such and such happened..weren't completely so and so...As for the rest screw them for leaving us in the dark..
Do you trust the cogito? there is thinking or mental activity in latin..but a thinker? Its not rigorous logically but I like what that italian fellow said..Il Magnifico or something...'If one is thinking one is quite probably around"
Actually cogito ergo sum is a little bit more inductive then thinking. As thought can be pre-determine. Cogito ergo sum, is better translated as I doubt, so I am. Doubt isn't predeterminable. Is consciousness real?
From a physics point of view; Choice is very much real. We have a free choice. Whatever you wish to distill from that is up to you.
I'm all for induction..I think Hume lacks humility..religious up bringing...but doesn't induction need an experiment...like something to go on...seems like maybe we are talking about participation/consciousness and self consciousness/an in of itself idea...????
