The mind is the name for our 'centre of conscious', It's wired in to all of our senses.

It's capable of rationalising, solving problems, inventing/creating thoughts. But what is it?

Modern psychology tends to teach that the mind is conscious and unconscious. But is the mind a two part thing? or a thing with two parts?

Other ideas divide the mind into instinctive (sub conscious) and intellectual (conscious), some also think there is a 'spiritual mind' (super conscious?) which can know things the intellect cannot rationalise.

Some claim there is a universale mind, that all intellegence can telepathically recieve and share infoormation/thoughts with 'the source of mind' of something.

Others would claim that the mind is a biological mechanical thing presumably is inside the brain somewhere. Perhaps biology can answer some of the questions about 'where' the mind is located.

Cells and organs operate in a sophisticated way inside our bodies, surely under the direction of some kind of mind or intellegence, yet it's all completely nonexistent as far as our conscious mind are concerned.

From my perspective my mind in behind my eyes, between my ears, not to far back from my taste sensations and somewhere near the top of my nervous system... but where is the mind?

What is the phenomena knowns as 'mind'?

Im not looking for an argument or to be patronised but if you have any ideas on what the mind, or consciousness is, or anything i say above... please share

I think mind is confined in our head. And so... we watch others doing stuff (like eat, work, ect) assuming they have a mind with them. But actually, I don't think it made any different (from viewing what they did) that they had a mind or were they just a mindless intelligent machine...?

If mind had some extra power then it would be cool. But mind don't. They all are just like other peoples (me and you, doesn't do anything special either)...

Your text is a bit hard to follow msa, no offence intended.

I think minds are unique, as they are us, they contain our own ego.
Even the way peoples minds percieve sensory stimulii varies... but maybe thats the senses that function differently... Theres no doubt that some peoples minds are capale of things that other people are not capable of.

There is such a thing as creative thinking, coming up with ideas that are new, original, your own. Some say nothing is original... I say everything was once original (at it's origin!).

I would geuss that a lot of what the mind thinks/feelss is due to mechanical prosses between the sensory recptors and the nervous system... But when you shut out the senses... you still have your conscious mind and imagination.
That's why people go into sensory deprevation tanks... so they can give more energy to there conscious thought and imagination. Becuase the mind only has a certain amount of power (depending on how much you have trained it up), when you are walking you cannot think about your plans as well as when you are sitting, this is because some of the minds power is given to maintaining muscle movement and balance of walking.
