DUALITY BECOMING-DURATION

The concept of duality becoming-duration (B-D) was created by us in October 25 2010.
The becoming is a series of flowing moments (changes).
The duration is a series of static values (intervals) that increase with the becoming.
We perceive the becoming in changes and we intuit it as continuity. We perceive the duration as an illusion and we intuit it as an interval. We perceive the space as a vacuum and we intuit it as the coordinates xyz. Time is the mathamatical representation of duality B-D. The intuition is the ability of discovering spontaneously relations among things. We use clocks and calendars to adjust us to the constant flow of the becoming.

BERGSON AND THE DUALITY B-D

Let’s see the following points:

1) The Bergson’s duration is the Sibilia’s becoming.

2) Sibilia and Bergson agree with the concept of time: abstract and mathematical.

3) For Bergson the duration is the real time of the conscience. Here, we disagree because the becoming is objective and generates the illusion of duration.

4) Although, we intuit the becoming, this is not exclusive of the conscience.

5) The Bergson’s negation of the time it was not just right. The time must be consider as a convenience.

ORIGIN OF THE DUALITY B-D

Arrived the moment to consider the duration as an illusion, the definition of this concept lead us to the becoming. An illusion is the distorted interpretation for a perceived stimulus really. This stimulus is the becoming. So, the becoming plus its perception (illusion) conform the duality B-D. The time is both, is a duality.

THE FORMULA 2KX

2KX is the formula of the duality B-D and we interpret it as:

2 is the duality, two elements into one.

K is the becoming (constant) because if it misses would not there be matter and so would not there be universe.

X are the standard values (units) which devide the becoming into equal intervals.
The time designates the mathematical representations of the B-D.

APPLICATIONS OF THE FORMULA 2KX

In the formula 2KX we saw that K is the becoming and X is the duration. In an inflamed candle the flame represents the becoming and the length or thickness of the candle is the duration. In the graphic -----.-----.-----. Sec, there is not becoming and the duration is 3 sec, X = 3 sec. In a clock the energy of the battery is the becoming and X = a + 1 ... N. a is any unit of measurement.

BECOMING AND DURATION GOTTEN DIVORCED

The individual study of the becoming and the time it has not permitted that they conceive before the relation becoming-duration.

- Heraclitus: For this philosopher there is not a static being of things. Nothing exists, because all that exist, exist an instant and the following instant it does not exist, but is another thing that exist.

- Newton: The mathematical, exact and precise thinking separated to Newton of a variable and flexible becoming.

- Kant: For this great thinker the time is a priori, and already this get untie him from all objective reality.

- Bergson: He defended the becoming and refused the time.

- Einstein: The relativity theory considers that the time is a space dimension, without any relation with the becoming.

- The duality B-D is a physical-psychological-mathematical concept.

The moments simply arrive and go, but they are set by the duration for an appropriate use for the self-same.

MOMENTS

A moment is a period of time relatively short and it indicates the specific instant or point of the day or whichever other phenomenon. The moments can be: astronomical (the birth of a star), historical (an outstanding fact), the date (annual) and the hour (daily). The date and the hour are periodical moments.

In a clock we can consider the seconds (the tic tac) like the becoming and the hour like the duration. The preciseness of the clock is the time (relation or duality B-D).

THE TIME LIKE UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLE

I want to give a little turn to my point of view about duality B-D. Leaving from what the time is the principle that expresses that all being has a beginning and an ending, the duration comprises the regular intervals or units of reference. It is not a new idea inside of this forum, but it expresses that the duality B-D it is derived from the time and not wrong side out like we understood it befo re. The time rules all of phenomenons.

OTHER DUALITIES

The duality B-D is a theory of time which is irreversible and only-dimensional (not forwarding).

1) Pythagoras: pair - uneven.

2) Empedocles: friendship - hate.

3) Aristotle: good - bad.

4) Anaxagoras: primitive chaos - intelligence (NOUS).

5) Atomists: infinity vacuum - multiplicity of invisible corpuscles.

6) Platon: intelligible world of the ideas (eternal, unchangeable and necessary) -
sensitive world of the matter (temporal, changeable and perishable).

7) Descartes: spirit - matter (soul-body).

8) Kant: pure reason - practical reason. Natural world of the appearance (phenomenon) - determinism. Moral world of the itself reality (noumeno) - liberty.

THE THEORY OF RELATIVITY

I think that the Theory of relativity is based in observable facts and not in real facts. It just can there be one accepted frame of reference for an only fact. The Theory of relativity is just applyied in the atom. The points of the space are coexistant and the points of the time are asynchronic. The concept of the space-time is purely mathematical.

LINGUISTIC RELATION

1) Uses of the concept extensión:

- The length is the geometric extension (line, surface, size).

- The duration is the extension of the becoming or phenomenons.

- In the computer science, the three last characters of the file name located after a point and that indicate the kind of file.

- In telecommunications, the telephonic line connected to a switchboard.

2) Other languages:

- French: surface –ETENDUE-, duration –DUREE-, in computer –EXTENSION- and telecommunications –POSTE-.

- German: surface –AUSDEGNUNG-, extension of a book –UMFANG-, duration –DAUER-, in computer –EXTENSION- and telephone –DURCHWAHL-.

- Spanish: surface –LONGITUD-, duration –DURACION-, in computer –EXTENSION- and telephone –EXTENSION-.

The length is the extension of coexistant points and the duration is the extension of asynchronic points.

Due to the becoming the phenomenons occupy time and their magnitude is the duration. That is the Duality B-D. We must occupy our time with the worthy work and the healthy recreation.
