How about this:
I wouldn't answer to your post unless I thought it was worth bothering with.
I shine the most when I think the least
Ehhmmm, what exactly are you looking for? Ofcourse thoughts are very powerfull, since every action we make has been lead by a thought. Thoughts decide what you do and don't. So in some sense the world is ruled merely by thoughts.
Thoughts are great, but are nothing unless put into action.Originally Posted by Yash
For mine; this investigation is one which is extremely interesting and important, yet it should not be limited to 'thoughts' in general, but rather include our intellect and emotions; being the dual (spiritual) wellspring from which our every thought - then decision to enact, is comprised - through a combining of these two original sources - one generated from within and the other provided - from without.
The thing is that these two spiritual sources, such that make up the who 'I am', are continually at enmity with each other, and more significantly; for every decision into which I ever enter, 'I' effectively give service to one, thereby forcing the other into an obedient submission unto 'me' through my choice - for that particular action.
We generically live by the understanding, particularly during this current era, of ‘my’ intelligence being ‘my servant’, thereby promoting 'me' to the position of master of my intellect; which is precisely the way we live out our lives - via a perfunctory selection, being the natural result of ‘my’ underpinning generic and cursory obedience to that opposing source – my emotions.
We can plainly witness this in action all around us, in a relationship of inverse proportions; as when we encounter what might be termed an ‘emotional individual’, where their chosen actions lack a certain level of intelligence. The more emotional a person’s mindset; the less reason employed – i.e. being a decreasing reliance upon the available intellect.
For mine, it is like the old illustration of the cart and horse. The horse (my intellect), being the engine that provides the power source required to get anywhere, with the cart being 'my' emotional package as proposed to being transported - with 'me' sitting in the middle of the two; making the decision to place whichever I select up front.
Clearly this deal works at it’s optimum, when the power source (intellect) is leading the procession, with the cart (emotions) behind – as the supporting passenger. However the vast majority of decisions ever made through human 'thought', has this arrangement as being positioned in the obverse, which is why we find our choices more often than not getting us into bother.
This is not to say that every emotional decision results in instant catastrophe, as (for instance); every time I put money into a slot machine, being an entirely emotional choice of action, does not instantly result in me becoming impoverished; but rather, I will win - occasionally. The end result on the other hand, is never in doubt – that I will likely develop an (emotional) attachment to the (emotional) thrill, which will ultimately result in my becoming another sad lesson in self-induced poverty – unless I manage somewhere along the road; to turn the package deal around – via a more ‘thoughtful’ (reasoned/intellectual) decision or two.
Actually, i was writing an essay on "Power of Thoughts"Originally Posted by Artemis
