In the circuitous haze of my mind
The future is not looking good.....The world is now quickly approaching a place similar to what is dictated in 1984 and A Brave New World. We are not only passing an absurd number of laws a year, but are trying to micro manage every single facet of reality through artificial means.

I asked a friend a while ago, "If you are so for safety through laws, then why don't you vote for a policy which states that people use knives to hurt each other, and therefore we should not be allowed to use them? That we can just tear everything apart instead. Hey, it may be an inconvenience, but you will be saving thousands of people a year". They responded by saying that there is no connection (a way of trying to hide from my implications) and that what I said did not make sense. Think about it! A slight inconvenience to save thousands of people! Who would not take it? If I had asked the question in a more inconspicuous fashion, they would surely have said yes, take away my knives. But, this method cannot be accomplished all at once. It can only be done through social conditioning. One of these mini campaigns caught my interest while watching the discovery channel. They now apparently want to attach electrodes to your head in order to shut off the car if they detect anger/road rage. Isn't that great! Fewer crashes, fewer jerks yelling at and cutting you off. Why not, right? Of you guys, who would vote for that? Would you want a machine to tell you to calm down? To forcefully take you off the road when you become antagonized? You do not need to use those braincells in order to recommend the ideal action to yourself, just leave it in the hands of the IT guys to alter your actions, because they know best. We have the best philosophers in the central tech offices. And then there is this prediction that I made a little while ago; we are nearing the ability to read the thoughts of our minds through mechanical methods. Why not apply that to prisoners? We could monitor every single inmate and prevent any detrimental actions that they could think of. The second he makes a threat or declares a destructive action, we put him down! No one escapes, no one dies but the offendi. And hey, why even sacrifice our time to discipline them, lets just put a neck brace that can either lethally or non-lethally punish them upon hearing a certain string of words? That would be great! But guess what?! Prisons cost us money and are the result of a crime being committed in the first place. Lets just put this collar on everyone so that no one can commit any wrong doings! No more deaths, no more violence, no more hatred or more, anything at all! Wouldn't that be nice? We could all live on a plane of nothingness. How lovely. So, who is up for it? Who will be the first to wear the collar? If you don't, innocent people will be dying, all because of you......

Of all the wonders in the universe, none is likely more fascinating and complicated than human nature.

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence"
