From time to time I find myself thinking about my cat.
What does she thinks all day long? what purpouse there is for her to live?

I mean, we dont have a garden or anything that she can come out to play,
the only connection that she has with the outside world is through the window...

All she does all day long is to avoid me; sleep and eat. that's all she does in her life.

I dunno how a creature can sustain this kind of boredom...

Sometimes I think that when she sleeps she actually meditates or transfers
her contiouness to another plane or something(like human meditation)...

Besides, what dreams she can possibly have? I mean, the dreams are made from
our own experiances; and the things that there is to do in me house
are very limited for a pet...

What do ya guys think? What reason is there for a home pet to keep on living?
And what does she thinks about all day long?(exept about the next meal offcourse)

Do you also talk to your cat, expecting responses?

As your cat cannot go outside it is probally pretty bored. I recommend getting a cat flap or opening the window, this way she will enjoy her existence more no doubt.

I have a cat also. I have noticed how big the eyes are of a cat, if you carefully peel back the skin around the eye ball you can roughly see the shape and size of the eye ball. I would say it is simillar to the size of a human, maybe bigger.. Thats pretty impressive for an eye ball i say - as the head of a cat is pretty small in comparison to a human head.

But anyway, a cat's eye always tells the truth in my opinon, one may not understand its eye expression but it is always true to what it is doing or trying to do. I notice them expressing eye shape in simillar ways to humans if they want food or at scared,, big pupils or 'feel sorry for me' look upon the face of the animal.

They must have some form of imagination where they slip into in the dream world.. I think this because i see my cat quickly planning out the complex route ahead, it has travel around the basket, up onto the ironing board )being carfull to not hit the objects off) and then the final hop onto the window ledge.. Before it does this is sometimes looks ahead and watchs itself do it before it sets off and this is why i think it has an imagination.

It dreams about hidding, killing, fighting, being sneaky, eating, other cats especially the big male who keeps on trying to jump opon it, it dreams of nothing and mainly is in a state of focus upon its breathing.

I does experience the world in through a very individual experience.

    Lolz!

Well sadly enough as I said, I dun have a garden, in fact I live on the 4th storie of
    my building xP
On top of that my really is afraid of the outside, every time I try to take her outside
for a few minutes she freaks out and acts like a scaredly cat, hah! xD

Aww, and I too can somewhat tell what she is thinking or "telling" me with the
    expression on her face ^^

urgh, but it's really depressing when I think about her life in our current "always on
the move and learning" human standards.. Poor cat...

WEll cats are very lazy in one sense, they clearly love to lazy about doing nothing but being comfortable in their solitude.. As long as she has a few nice little places to curl up and dive into her little head to do whatever, i am sure she is evolving/changing in that way as cats do..

Respect to the cat and the eye like the viper

Does she have toys to play with Hanuka.

Do you play the chase a piece of string game' (my cat used to love that!)

    Do you tickle her belly?

I used to hang bells and string from the ceiling and my cat used to spend ages trying to catch them.

Another thing he liked was chasing the rainbows my crystals hanging in the window used to make when the sun was shining.

When i made them spin so there were hundreds of rainbows everywhere he used to go mental!

He also used to like sitting in a basket i had with a lids so i could swing him round! Sounds cruel i know, but he would sit in the basket and winge incessantly until i did it!
Absum! has never been bored in her life, but is becoming increasingly bored of the Science Forum! :?

No no, that was really delicious!

I understand what Hanuka means. The house-cat has no integrity, no dignity. It's not really a "cat". Better see it strive and maybe fail on it's own terms, as a true cat.

The pets that sadden me most are those pathetic toy dogs, bred all squashed and crippled. We did this to them and I'm ashamed. IMHO we should mercy-kill those breeds by attrition (no more mating). It's not about animal rights; it's about our lack of empathy.
