    Would it be that difficult to accept that we are a "created" SILF, Sentient Intelligent
    Life Form? A SILF that was bioengineered by another far more advanced SILF?
    Would they have left us something to prove it? To explain who, what, and why we
    are here, why we were created?

    A 21st. century look at the bible may just give us the answers. By the end of the
    20th century we were able to answer some extremely technical questions posed in
    the bible. There are more questions, and scientific statements, made in the bible that
    we are not yet presenting here in these forum threads. Some very intriguing ones to
    say the least.

    And, here is the philosophical "what if" of it all. What if it is true, that instead of the
    bible being about "religion", it is instead the very communiqué from ET about the
    government of the galaxies, this Kingdom of the Heavens.

    The "gods" would of course represent the oldest and most advanced SILF.
    We could call the next oldest and advanced SILFs "lords", and so on if you get the
    idea. Strange as it may seem, if you toss out the religiosity that has been attached to
    these ancient writings that comprise the bible, and being able to answer the
    technological questions it asks, we would also then be able to easily understand it's
    "message" about the Kingdom of the Galaxies. The good news? That depends on
    what your attitude is about world democracy, or an incoming intergalactic
    monarchy.

    It's just a philosophical idea. :wink:

    Trying to take religion out of the bible is like trying to take milk out of cream; it cannot be done.

    It talks about a God that created the whole universe, not only humans and animals but EVERYTHING. God's most important message in the bible is to worship him and then he imposes a whole bunch of rules and regulations of how we are supposed to live and conduct ourselves on pain of death forever. Tell me how all this is not a perfect foundation for building a religion upon.

    If we were truly created by ET and they wanted us to know about it, they would have left a much clearer and more obvious message

    We could be created entities, simulations or engineered experiements. If all possible universes exist then in some of them things that have lived lives identical to ours will be such fabricated beings. And in some universes the creators will have put clues to this in the bible.

    But in some other universes they will have put clues in old episodes of The Flintstones, and in others in the shapes of clouds, and in others the messages will be hidden in Marilyn Manson songs. And in each case there will be parallel universe where an exact opposite message is hidden in the same medium by different "gods", or the same gods, or aliens. And then there are the universes where the message has been corrupted in some manner, such as a transmission error, or you incorrectly decoding it, or the god incorrectly encoding it, and so on.

    And then there are all the universes where there was no creator and no message, and when you see a message you are actually creating the information yourself. All the universes where you are crazy.

    There don't seem to be any obviously blatant messages from gods around, the kind that everyone moderately intelligent can agree "Oh yeah, that looks like a message from a god." The things a large number take as messages, such as the bible, seem fairly silly and uninsightful to many others, and are in competition with a hundred other texts also claiming to be messages from a god.

    Not to say that a god might not communicate personally with individuals, and even do it through all kinds of wierd texts, but these lack any obvious quality that could convince many other of their divine source.

    If we examine the mathematical space of all universes (say, the wave-function of the universe on a many-worlds interpretation, or an even broader mathematical description of possible structures) then I think we would find all kinds of configurations corresponding to things we might consider gods, and also configuration corresponding to us being created by gods. But there are also all the configurations where we are NOT created by gods.

    The question is, which configuration are we? Is it more likely that we are a configuration constructed by alien super minds or configurations that just evolve out of self organizing random chaos. At a guess I'd say the latter has a bigger slice of the wave-function pie, but you never can tell.

    Well yes that would problerly be difficult to accept for most, especially without any kind of prof. Also since The idea of being created by another mortal being of any sort will colide with all other religions and have no bassis in sience, but it is a nice scifi themes in countless novels.

    I would like to ask what techinical questions these are?

    Well since the bible is {amoung other things} a lawbook taking place in the area aroung palestine and the middleeast i dont really see any prof of this.

    There is only one god in the bibel, although he has diffent forms and origins. Again I must ask that you give some examples about these technological questions, because I dont know what your talking about.
    As Time and Space come bending back to shape this star-specked scene,
    The tranquil tears of tragic joy still spread their silver sheen;
    Along the Grand Canal still soar the fragile Towers of Truth;
    Their fairy grace defends this place of Beauty, calm and couth.

    Bone-tired the race that raised the Towers, forgotten are their lores;
    Long gone the gods who shed the tears that lap these crystal shores.
    Slow beats the time-worn heart of Mars beneath this icy sky;
    The thin air whispers voicelessly that all who live must die - Robert A. Heinlein

    Look at patterns of divergence in DNA and proteins. They clearly
    show that we have evolved from other ancestral creatures who,
    in-turn, evolved from micro-organisms, who evolved from sludge.

    If you are willing to deny this then you must also be saying that
    either the Gods are fooling us, are modelling us over time or some
    other explanation involving lizards.

    My point is, and I'll make it short.

    The bible is a crock of ****.

    even if god was a SILF, we would still believe in a greater being, so it is still a religion.
